He acquired the Clarks hotels in 1947,
which has now expanded to several cities,
throughout the nation and beyond India.

He was the mayor of Varanasi,
and as mayor he never ruled but served.
His reputation was so pure that when riots broke out
he was called to calm communities down, they heeded their
calling.
When he passed, the town shut.
Followers of every faith prayed, workers of every field paused,
everyone mourned.

As an industrialist, he was the largest exporter of textiles.
As a citizen he wanted to contribute to his nation,
by building tourism and employing as many of the locals as he
possibly could.

He was simple, effective, and a mentor to so many…
